Dear Pat,
Thank you for the letter you sent me where you talked about the lesbian who the 700 Club prayed for, and now she’s free and serving Jesus and married to a Christian man. Amen!
It’s really a coincidence because I can tell you a similar story. There was a lesbian in our church who we prayed for night and day. She received counseling from the pastor for a year, and then one day, hallelujah! Our prayers were answered! We heard that she had married the pastor! Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out so well--a few months later, we found out the pastor was gay. Go figure.
Also, you asked us all to support the Federal Marriage Amendment that says marriage “consists only of the union of a man and a woman.” I think I’m ok with that, but I guess my question is: What’s the point? I mean, I never heard of a dog wanting to marry a turtle, or a horse wanting to marry a kangaroo--but I suppose if they wanted to, we probably should stop them. Anyway, maybe you should write an amendment that says, “Marriage consists only of the union of two human beings (italics mine), but excludes the union of one species with another.” You have to be clear with these amendments or you can never get them passed.
Sincerely,
Carl Estrada
