President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, DC 20500
Dear Mr. President,
I just got your letter telling me that you were praying to God for peace and praying to God for our troops and thanking God for our Nation’s blessings, and all I can say is: Amen!
I want you to know that I pray to God every day to give you the wisdom to make the right decisions. Also, my grandson Lester still prays for you every day. He’s filled with the Holy Spirit! Remember Daniel in the lion’s den? Remember how Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night? That’s my Lester! He prays to God so much, I don’t think he’ll ever get in trouble with cocaine or binge drinking or anything like that.
God bless you, Mr. President! And God bless your lovely wife Laura, too. You could have knocked me over with a rosary when you told me that Laura sent her best wishes, too. Tell her I pray to God for her every night and so does my grandson, Lester. My wife prays to God for you and Laura, too. We also pray to God for your dogs, Barney Bush and Spot Bush, and we pray to God for your cat, India “Willie” Bush. We also pray to God for Dick Cheney and for his dog that’s in the picture you sent us, but it didn’t say the dog’s name. We pray to God for him anyway.
God is good! God is great! God is on our side! (I’m not sure how I know that--I just do. Don’t you think so?)
God Bless America and God Bless George W. Bush!
