Dear Hillary:

I’ve got this incredible idea--I’m so excited about it I could burst! When I tell you, I know you’re first impulse will be to wad this letter up and throw it in the recycle bin, but PLEASE hear me out. OK, here it is (deep breath):

“Dittoheads for Hillary!”

WHOO! We got that far. OK...I’ve written to Rush Limbaugh to propose that I head up a “Dittoheads for Hillary” movement. I know you promised New Yorkers you would stay in the Senate, but this way you wouldn’t have to take responsibility for running for president. The groundswell would be so enormous you could play reluctant and coy, and just get swept up by it! You’d have everybody pulling for you--all the millions of Hillary fans, plus all the Clinton-bashers! And why, you ask, would Rush and his right-wingers-with-rabies want you to be president? Well, isn’t that obvious? Rush has been slipping ever since he hasn’t had Clinton to kick around anymore--he’s still trying to beat up on you even when Bill’s off in Harlem somewhere writing a book, and you’re just a senator. So I know he’ll go for it. The trade-off will be that Rush gets to bash you for 4-8 years (which he’s going to do anyway) and you get to be president.

I know you can’t go on record as endorsing this, but could you give me some kind of sign? I can hardly wait til the debates!
