Dear Ms. Whitman,
I always get it mixed up--were you the one that worked for James Watt or was that Gale Norton? He was a great American, wasn’t he?
I have a question: When the EPA came out with that statement saying that there really is global warming and it really is partly due to what we humans here on earth are doing, I have to say I was shocked. I had never put it together. Besides, this year we had lots of snow back east (as you probably know because you live there). So how can you say things are getting warmer?
Anyway, when the EPA made that statement, President Bush said that it was just a bunch of bureaucrats blowing smoke. He wasn’t talking about you, was he? Who am I to believe? And so what if there’s global warming anyway? I mean, people spend thousands of dollars to go to Hawaii--now they won’t have to anymore. Hawaii will come to them, right?
Another question: I’m thinking about buying an SUV. I heard I can get a huge tax write-off if I buy one, so what I want to know is: Is this going to go on for a while? If I can get the write-off next year, I think I’ll wait, but if it’s going to be repealed, I’d better get that SUV right now!
What’s your advice on a good SUV? Do you like the Ford Explorer? I hear even Cadillac and Lincoln are making SUV’s now! What do you think of those?
Thanks for the tips,
Carl Estrada
