President George W. Bush
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, DC 20500
Dear Mr. President,
I can’t believe what a big deal they’re making out of 16 stupid words! How many words were in that whole speech? Thousands I bet. And they have to focus on 16 of them. It reminds me of when your dad said, “Read my lips: No new taxes.” That was only six words, and look how much trouble he got into.
Well, I guess we’re living in a sound bite world, and you gotta play the game. I have an idea for you--hold a press conference and say, “I have sixteen more words for you, and here they are:
“I’m President of the United States. I’ll do whatever I want, and you can’t stop me!”
How’s that for 16 words? That’ll shut ‘em up!
Shock and Awe!
You’re With Us or Your Against Us!
Bring ‘em On!

P.S. Most of us think it was Cheney that muscled those 16 words into the speech. I think you should ask him.
