Dear Mr. Lowry,
You are so right! Right--get it? Who says Republicans don’t have a sense of humor? I heard someone say that if you’re an old liberal, you have no brain and if you’re a young conservative, you have no heart. I’m not so sure--I know some old liberals who are pretty smart, and you’re a young conservative. You have a heart, don’t you?
Anyway, I was reading your article where you talked about all the Bush haters and all I can say is: It’s about time! Finally, somebody stands up and tells the truth! The LIBERAL MEDIA has had it in for Bush from the beginning. I’m so tired of all this Bush bashing! Just because he exaggerated the truth about WMD(s) and Saddam’s links to Al Quaeda and threw us down a black hole in Iraq with no way to win and no way to get out and cut all our social services and ruined our environment and made the whole world mad at us and ran us into a bazillion dollar debt--that’s no reason to be ganging up on him! Can you imagine if Clinton had done those things? The LIBERAL MEDIA would have winked and looked the other way and Bubba would have walked away with that big, dumb smile on his face.
If Clinton had made secret arrests and wiretaps and snooped in our library records and accused his rivals of being unpatriotic and said, “You’re with us or you’re against us,” do you think the LIBERAL MEDIA would have accused him of being a fascist? Of course not. The LIBERAL MEDIA cut Clinton all kinds of slack, but they won’t leave poor George W. Bush alone, just because he made a mistake or two or three.
And another thing: Clinton had an affair with an intern! Right in the Oval Office! And to top that off, he looked right in the camera and lied to the American people about it! Now I ask you, what’s worse--exaggerating the truth about WMD(s) so we can go to war and liberate Iraq from the Evil Dictator, or lying about breaking a Commandment? I rest my case.
And you’re right about something else--President Bush is not as bad as Hitler, even if the LIBERAL MEDIA says he is. For one thing, Bush hasn’t been in office long enough to compare his record to Hitler’s. For another thing, he’s not as articulate as Hitler (don’t get me wrong--he’s smart, he’s just not articulate).
Anyway, I thought of a good campaign slogan--if you talk to Bush, you might suggest it: Re-elect George W. Bush! He’s Not As Bad As Hitler!
Sincerely,
Carl Estrada
